I regret that Ohio schools don't seem to be scheduling D 3 schools any more (the D 1's ). As recently as year before last, Ohio U played Ohio Wesleyan and OWU won. Ohio State has played OWU in the past. I'm pretty sure Kent State has played Wooster. The better D 3 programs can compete and it is a tremendous motivator. I guess an elitist mind set has taken over.

It doesn't make any sense for there to be interdivision games.
From the DIII perspective, in-Region wins as SO important. Playing a DI school, even if you beat them adds nothing to your resume if you're a Pool C team. I never understood why a DIII school would waste a midweek slot in playing up a division when they know how important regional games are.
For DI school's when the RPI weighs heavily, a DIII game doesn't count against you, but it does nothing for you. OSU playing two with Louisville their main competition in 2010 to host a regional, is infinity more important than playing down a division. Or if you're in the MAC where you cannot rely on regional play without the auto-bid, for Kent State to play two with Penn State, or Xavier take on Indiana does so much more then taking on Wooster.

Thanks Chris, I didn't think of it that way. It was fun to beat Ohio U. On Johnny Damon, no offense to girls but he is a DH in LF and his 3 hoppers to the cutoff man will be hard to take.

Not a problem. Sorry if I came off a bit edgy there.
But from the DIII perspective I can totally see wanting to play up and slay Goliath. Just in the end, win or lose it does more to hinder the program outside of bragging rights.
There are a good six programs, Wooster, OWU, Denison, Otterbein, Marietta, Heidelberg that realistically have the talent to play in a Regional. Of the six only two are promised (this is if no sleepers win the tournaments in the OAC and NCAC) so you're competiting with each other for the better Pool C resume.... and every other team in the country. Gotta pile up those in-region wins.
