GAME ONE: JCU - 1 MAR - 4 Marietta had runners on all day long, but the timely hitting didn't come until the 7th inning when the Pioneers plated 3 with 2-outs. Gasser went the distance to improve to 11-0 on the year, although his 0.89 ERA took a hit with that 1 earned run

I was listening on the internet...not only did they score 3 with 2 outs they did so by starting that rally with 2 outs and no one on base! Snyder came up with a huge 2 out gap shot to chase home the tying and go ahead runs.
I'm guessing we'll see Holt and Colly in the nightcap. Mount hit Holt pretty well last weekend, but this is a whole different scenario.

Berg up 1-0 in the 3rd. James got the nod for Berg against Colly.

Berg coasts past MUC, 14-5. Beau Smith relieved Colly so I'm not sure who would pitch if Mount beats JCU tomorrow.

Today's pitching matchup between MAR and HEId will be interesting. Will we see Blaski vs Holt? Both have been their teams ACE for some (or most) of the last 2 years, but both have struggled at times this season.
It should be another great game between these 2 powerhouses!

Blaski - YES Holt - NO
HEID decided to go with Sly Nino instead....and Marietta struck for 3 runs in the 1st, and another in the 4th. Blaski was amazing, getting the complete game 2-hit SHUTOUT; and the Pioneer defense was great all day.
2 tournament games - 2 complete game gems by Pioneer pitchers. ;D
FINAL HEID - 0 MAR - 4

Interesting choice going with Nino I thought. It's been an odd year for the Berg as they didn't really seem to have a clear cut top of the rotation. James has been great all year, but after him the other guys have been up and down a little. I guess the glass half full perspective is that they still have their presumed 1-2 ready to go.

Berg is up 5-1 in the 6th. Holt is throwing very well (5 IP, 0 ER). Keen continues to be hot at the plate. If he gets in a groove that could be big come Regionals.

the Berg broke it open agianst JCU; looks like it will be the Etta Express and the Berg for the title as expected.
They could easily play 2 tomorrow (for the 4th and 5th times this year), before matching up another 1-3 times next weekend in the regionals for a possible 5 to 8 times on the year....crazy.

why is Lowe in the game in the 7th??? the Berg has to have other guys who can close this one out; Lowe has already thrown last night and earlier today; warming up both times plus going 1+ innings each outing.
And now he just threw 27 pitches in the 7th anf got into trouble.
I know people say that you have to win today to get to tomorrow, but c'mon they HAVE to have someone else who can get some guys out before burning up Lowe.
Strange call....They will need him tomorrow if they want a chance to win the OAC title.

That seems like a time they could have gone with O'Driscoll doesn't it?

That seems like a time they could have gone with O'Driscoll doesn't it? yep...that's what I would've done. I know Lowe is a beast, but there was no need to use him in that spot unless everyone else in the bullpen was using the restroom.

Interesting game with Heidelberg and John Carroll tonight. Way too much chirping going on from the fans at the end the game when the outcome was well known before the final few outs were recorded. Just seemed a bit unnecessary to argue and complain balls and strikes at that juncture of the game. Esspecially when the arguments and gripes were completely off base...
