As for the AA mentions, my problem is that I just don't know enough about the non-Mideast guys to say "yeah, this guy has great numbers, but he plays in a bad conference." I would have said that about Fyffe and Uhl, but those guys seemed pretty legit during the regional. I would have probably put Van Horn on there ahead of Fyffe, but I'm also biased.

Oh, and I was kind of pulling for Dan Jones to get on there. I saw him play several times this year and I just really liked him as a player. Great defensively, great approach at the plate. He improved a ton as a hitter since the last time I saw him and that's a credit to him and his coaches. Glad to see him get the Gold Glove award at least. He deserved it.

Berg goes down 4-3 to IWU....tough loss. They just couldn't get anything going in the later innings.
Lowe came in to relieve Koehl, who pitched great. HEID has played great these first few days, but will need to fin that "big inning" at least a few times to survive the next few games.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Can anyone explain to me why the Berg website has them playing Linfield tomorrow, when the NCAA bracket has them playing Cortland, who won the other elimination game today? Are the teams being re-seeded?

The NCAA bracket now has them playing Linfield too. Basically Linfield and IWU were locked into games 12 and 13, respectively. They then shift around the other two to avoid rematches if possible. In this case Berg has played IWU so they play Linfield.

And for anyone that didn't know, Berg eliminated UW-SP 8-3 today behind a strong effort from Nathan James.

What happens if Cortland beats Ill. Wesleyan? Are they eliminated with only 1 loss? Thanks for the info!

Thanks mideast, that was exactly what I would have done too! It's easier just to look at it.
I can't believe IWU. This is unbelievable.

HEID off to a great start today. They make Linfield pay for a 1st inning error, as Monroe got a 3-rbi double...all 3 runs were unearned

Thomas lasted 5.2 innings, and did great!!! Sly Nino is in the game for the 2nd day in a row as a reliever; and he's been great as well. HEID leads 4-1 in the bottom of the 8th. Heidelberg has gotten great pitching from their whole staff throughout this tournament...and they still have Lowe in their back pocket to close this one out if they need him. Hopefully they can keep him fresh until tomorrow, then it will be up to Holt, Koehl and Lowe to bring the title back to Ohio!!!

...and just like that, Nino gets in a little trouble in the 8th. walk, single, double...4-2 with 0 outs, Lowe is in the game now with runners on 2nd & 3rd.
crap...HBP, then GrandSlam...6-4 Linfield in the 8th
