The Wooster Fighting Scots kick off their 2011 season Sunday with a noon game against La Grange in Georgia. The panthers are 10-4 but 8-1 at home. Should be a stiff test for Woo. J-Mac will be on the hill for the Scots.
Go Scots! Expect Victory

I'm becoming more and more fearful that the OAC season is going to Berg/Etta....huge gap....everyone else. Those two are just so deep I don't know who can hang with them. But there is always a silver lining. It's better than the old days of Etta....huge gap...everyone else. And it gives us some huge games to look forward to.

A DH on Sat at 9 am with Anna Maria will conclude the trip before heading back north. Pitching has been stellar thus far. I saw they were on a tear. That would be great for the NCAC if Witt progresses. The battle for the conference tourney will be heated!

John Carroll went 5-3 on their spring trip. Tom Hickey and Brian Benander were the leading hitters. The Blue Streaks are young using many freshman pitchers. It will be interesting to see how they progress as the season goes on.

Got back last night from Fla. after watching Berg play. They are now 9-0, after winning a close one over Carthage. There's no quit in those Berg boys, coming back from a 5-3 deficit to score 5 in the top of the 9th. Andy Lowe shut the door in the bottom of the 9th for an 8-5 Berg victory.
Saw some very good teams at the Snowbird Classic. I think Marietta will be a force not just in the OAC, but nationally as well. Could the top two DIII schools be in Ohio? (This one's for you, Gramps!)

Thanks Pitchers Mom, keep the messages coming.
These young men known as "THE BERG" Team, are just that, a team, someone always steps up when needed. Today, it was Alex Monroe, (ALMO) who had a day, 3-3, 3 RBIs, and 2 Runs scored. THE BERG is now 9-0 with a win today over perenial powerhouse Carthage, 8-5.
Also a tip of Gramps hat to the pitchers today: N James, B Stucky, (Win #1), and A Lowe, (Save #4 ). And accolades to the Hitters: A Monroe, 3-3, 3 RBIs, 2 Runs; J Martin, 2-4, 1 Run, W Brechun, 2-5, 1 RBI; and hits by R Lizcano, G Keen, J Lash, and D Andrzejczak.
