B-W beats Oberlin and is officially half way to their 2010 win total already. The Jackets also swept the Yeomen today so they're now 8-4 and technically 2/3 of the way to the 2010 total now.

Englander has done a very nice job with the Case program. They are very competitive which wasn't always the case in the past.

Any Woo guys have any thoughts on what's going on thus far? Scots are sitting at 5-6 right now. They seem to be struggling a little offensively down south. And defense has traditionally not been the Scots strong suit so that is still a factor. Just some growing pains with the turnover in the lineup from last year?

THE BERG suffers their second loss of the season as they fall to Wittenberg by a score of 3-1. Their bats were held in check by a combination of five pitchers. THE BERG had many opportunities to score, as they stranded 10 runners.

Just to add on to Gramps comments, Witt moves to 9-7 by beating The Berg tonight in Springfield, Berg 1-5-2, Witt 3-8-2. Some good pitching on both sides tonight, Witt going mainly with the bullpen getting 2 inn, each, 2 starters got some work in also. Both teams committing 2 errors each, also a quick game 2:08. This was a big win for Witt, if they can play every game like tonight, and have the pitching hold up in the NCAC schedule, this group can make a run towards the top of the NCAC. Witt opens the NCAC schedule on Sat. at home vs Allegheny a DH at noon, then at Wabash on Sun. for a DH starting at 1:00pm.

Otterbein is off to an 0-4 start. Good starting pitching, no hitting (.171 team BA) thus far. Cards rattle off 4 straight to level their record at 4-4. Pitching has continued to be good.

Gramps, what is going on with the Berg's offense? Noticed that Palm shook the lineup up quite a bit today, but they still seem to be slumping a little. Probably too early to actually call it a slump, but that's 5 straight games they've not been themselves.
p.s. OWU beat Berg 4-2 today for anyone that doesn't religiously check scores like me!

Chad, Just returned from a 10 day trip with the Woo baseball team. The Scots started at least 6 Freshman every game. The starting pitching has been superb. Early on in the trip, the youngsters were just not ready for college baseball. Taking BP in the cage or live pitching from your own is not the same as trying to hit a n 80 mph slider in a game. The Scots have won 3 in a row and have scored at least 10 runs in each of those games. This team will get better as the year goes on. Go Scots! Expect victory.

Chad, as you know, this is a never quit team, and Palm is a never quit coach. They have too much talent not to right the ship and sail on forward. The hitters have been making contact with the ball, but unfortunatly, right at someone. It's still too early in the season to panic. THE BERG has a 3 game series this weekend with a strong Case team. A DH at Case on Sat., and a single game at Pleasant Valley on Sun. We can better assess the season after these games.
GO BERG!!!!
